Timeless moments

When I work with watercolor and acrylic paints, I truly enjoy the physical act of laying down paint on paper, and seeing how the pigments react.

As soon as they touch the water, the pigments start moving, floating, sometimes merging with each other, other times pushing each other around. While the water slowly evaporates, they find their final resting place, in the nook and crannies of the paper surface, eventually leaving their permanent trace.

In this series I captured these traces with a digital camera and a macro lens, transforming very small details into large prints which reveal to the eye the secret stories told by the finely ground particles that make up paints.
